Another prime example why the tascam dr40 is complete useless as a field recorder. Picked up this interference somewhere literally in a field in the middle of nowhere. Do not buy.

Capoeira mestre calango was nice enough to do a couple of short recordings on the berimbau for me. A berimbau is a one stringed instrument with the string made from the inside liner of a truck tire, it has a claxia(sp?) a shaker with it and is modulated by placing the gourd against the stomach and removing it. Done with hdp2 and two sennheiser mics 66 67, was in 24 bit 96khz, downconverted to 16b at 44. 1, a relatively clean recording at a very high level.

An early morning field recording from nile valley, near naches, washington. In this recording you will hear birds and a herd of roosevelt elk. This was recorded in early september of 2018 using my tascam dr08.

Notch filter – 60 hz applied two times. 2. Lp filter –knee at 1 khz3. Hp filter-knee at about 3. 2 khz4. Granular delay – bubbling sound5. Chorus audio effect-snap, crackly sound. 6. Reverb-cave echo affect-high wet/dry7. Utility- for stereo width.
